Judy Security, a global AI-powered cyber security platform designed for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), is aiming to democratise cyber security by making advanced capabilities available to small businesses globally, including those in Africa, regardless of size or budget.
The company said it is committed to providing security for all and is actively working to redefine cyber security for the real world.
Judy Security CEO Raffaele Mautone said in a recent interview with ITWeb Africa that the company provides cost-effective cyber security solutions that do not require expert knowledge.
The interview focused on Judy Security's objective of improving cyber security for SMBs through its innovative platform.
Judy Security, according to Mautone, is transforming the cyber security landscape for SMBs and their Managed Service Providers (MSPs) with its all-in-one, AI-driven solution, the OpenXDR platform.
The platform, he said, offers an all-in-one solution that includes password management, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and endpoint detection and response (EDR), significantly streamlining compliance processes for frameworks like NIST, HIPAA, and SOC2.
He went on to explain: “With OpenXDR, it's unheard of what we're doing across the globe. Think of it this way, most partners go into a customer and the only thing they can do based on the programs that they're a part of is replace the technology with something that they've committed to.
“That doesn't align to what the customer wants and creates an immediate friction for partners and customers. We go in the opposite direction.
“We lead with OpenXDR. And what that means is we come in with our OpenXDR technology. We can connect to any product that's out there.
“There are over 4,000 connections. And we also complement it with our 24 by 7 security team. So if a partner doesn't have a security team or a customer, within 15 minutes of us connecting all the connectors, they now have a security team monitoring 24 by 7.
“We have team members in Africa, as well as Detroit, Michigan, where we're headquartered. And now in Australia, we also built our data centers in Johannesburg. So all the data, all the code stays in South Africa.”
Regarding democratising cyber security and how Judy Security intends to do that, Mautone responded: “Well, most small to medium-sized businesses, regardless if they're one employee or 5,000 employees, they're missing one of the seven pillars that would be needed for them to be compliant.
“So, if a small organisation needs to have that compliance framework, they now have the tool sets to be able to meet that compliance framework.
“And what we mean by that is most compliance framework; the baseline is password management, MFA, some sort of EDR and scanning at the endpoint, and then the ability to pull all the logs that are coming from your network, your firewall, the devices, the employees, and the data to be compliant for that framework.”
Mautone explained to ITWeb Africa that Judy Security developed the platform after recognising that three in five SMBs have faced cyber-attacks and that 88% of these small medium-sized businesses feel at risk due to the complexity and cost of traditional security solutions.
Also, he spoke about the company’s ‘unique approach’, which prioritises partnerships with MSPs and managed security service providers (MSSPs) while leveraging on its Open XDR platform.
The interview also highlighted the importance of cultivating a culture of security awareness among employees and the reliance of small businesses on local MSPs for cyber security support.
Mautone emphasised the need for regular security audits and the importance of building trust with SMBs to encourage the adoption of cyber security services.
