Intermec 2011 overview

All of the industrious endeavours that added to the highly successful year for Intermec`s southern African region were acknowledged as Intermec extended their appreciation to its channel partners at a prestigious end-of-year function.

Intermec`s Southern African Region boasted an outstanding double digit growth on 2010 in 2011. A key ingredient in this accomplishment has been the dedicated efforts of specialised channel partners, a fact well understood by Intermec.

Rudi Martin, Country Manager, enthused: “It is encouraging to see the new partners that have taken on the range and how the Intermec business of some of the existing partners has grown in the still challenging financial times.”

Multiple categories of awards, ranging from Most Complete Portfolio of Product Sold, Most Improved New Partner, to Top Partner, were presented by Julian Sperring-Toy, General Manager - Middle East, India and Africa.

Sperring-Toy, who is based in Dubai, also personally thanked and updated partners on the region`s performance and highlighted key points for the company moving forward into 2012.

“South Africa continues to be one of the most important individual markets for Intermec, where we continue to build on our long and successful history. The local investment that we made in increasing our additional resources, combined with the investment the company has made in new products, has enabled us to develop new markets, customers and partners and is something that will be accelerated in 2012,” commented Sperring-Toy.

During 2011, Intermec EMEA continued to expand its service capability by introducing new Intermec Service Locations (ISLs) in key geographical areas. The new ISLs will further standardise Intermec`s depot repair process and enable Intermec to deliver an even more consistent and robust state-of-the-art service across EMEA.

To complement this, Intermec has selected key partners to join the Intermec Printer Service Partner (IPSP) programme. IPSPs provide country-specific service on Intermec printer products, follow Intermec repair procedures, and use genuine manufacturer spare parts. This further enhances Intermec`s service portfolio and ensures a more streamlined repair service is delivered to its customers.
