The Institute of Chartered IT Professionals (ICITP) has launched the first South African Information Technology Professional Designation, namely Information Technology Certified Professional™ (ITCP)SA which is accessible worldwide.

Recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), the ITCP™ designation is the entry-level designation of ICITP, designed to create specialized practitioners in Information Technology whom are practically competent & poses business skills. ITCP™ syllabus covers core business skills such as Information Management, Entrepreneurship & Financial management.

Passing the Information Technology Certified Professional™ (ITCP) Board Exam proves eligibility for the next level Chartered Information Technology Professional® (CITP) upon meeting the Board Exam & practical competency requirements. http://www.icitp.org.za/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/ITCP-BOARD-EXAM-BROCHURE.pdf

For the Professional Designation to be awarded, professionals must poses an underlying Registered Qualification or Part Qualification such as a Diploma and/or a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science & Computer Engineering at NQF Level 6 & NQF Level 7 respectively.

Competency Assessment: The ITCP (SA) Board Examination is compulsory & this Designation may be awarded through Recognition of Prior Learning.

In order to ensure the currency of professional knowledge & to retain the Professional Designation, the professional must comply with & adhere to the Professional Body Codes of Conduct & Ethics & 20 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points per year must be accumulated & recorded. Member must ensure that the annual membership fee is paid.
