Huawei Nigeria is taking a big move in redefining hotel management in the country by launching Smart Hotel Solutions, a suite of intelligent technologies meant to automate operations, improve guest experiences, and reduce costs across the hospitality industry.

The business presented its innovations during its Smart Hotel Solutions Summit in Lagos, which brought together hotel industry executives to discuss how digital and new technologies can drive growth and competition in the sector.

According to Vito Zhao, director of commercial and distribution sales at Huawei Nigeria, the solutions use AI, IoT, and cloud computing to accelerate the digitalisation of hospitality, allowing hotels to increase revenue, improve operational efficiency, and provide seamless, data-driven guest experiences.

“This technology empowers hotels to meet the expectations of modern travelers from mobile check-ins to intelligent room automation while reducing energy use and optimizing performance,” Zhao said.

Industry experts say the shift toward digital hotel management has become inevitable.

Olugbenga Sunday, convener of the Hotel Managers Conference Africa, noted that Nigeria’s hospitality sector must embrace intelligent systems to stay competitive in a rapidly changing market.

“Today’s guests demand hyper-personalized, connected experiences,” he said. “Hotels that fail to adopt smart solutions will struggle to survive in this digital era.”

Huawei's technical team also demonstrated new products, such as the Xinghe high-quality hotel network solution and an integrated CCTV/FTTR system, both powered by Wi-Fi 7 to provide high-speed connectivity throughout hotel spaces.

The system's Channel State Information functionality enables for intelligent room automation, while the Anti-Peeping function improves privacy protection.

The event also included case studies from industry partners such as Radisson Blu, ValinnoBioduxPMS, and 21st Century Evolution System, which provided early instances of how smart technology is altering hotel operations in Nigeria.
