Mobile devices and technology company HTC has announced that its One M9 smartphone will be available during the month of June at Vodacom stores in South Africa.

In a statement HTC said that its new smartphone will be available with customisable themes to put users in the centre of the smartphone experience.

The HTC One M9 boasts a 20 megapixel main camera, which has the ability to shoot movies in 4K resolution.

Other features include a front facing camera, HTC BoomSound combined with 5.1 channel Dolby Surround sound simulation and a preloaded Peel Smart Remote app.

"The HTC One M9 is an extension of you as it is attractive, intuitive and highly customisable. We are positive that South Africans will love the many benefits it will bring to their lifestyles with its enriched user experience and fantastic specifications," said Neeraj Seth, head of marketing, HTC Middle East and Africa (MEA).

Initially the phone will be available in two colours namely dual tone gold and silver and single-tone gunmetal grey, however, more colours are planned to be added later in the year.

The HTC One M9 is available from Vodacom on a range of packages including on a Vodacom Smart S contract for R529 per month.
