Helios Towers is planning a $150 million investment to expand network coverage and support digital growth in Senegal.
The investment was announced during a meeting between Senegalese president Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye and Tom Greenwood, CEO of Helios Towers Group.
The independent telecommunications tower operator said the proposed funding will deepen its presence in the West African country by expanding network infrastructure and coverage.
According to the presidency, the commitment supports Senegal's ambition to use digital technology as a driver of economic transformation and inclusion.
A GSMA analysis notes that Senegal could bring 2.6 million more people online by 2030, expanding access to essential digital services and creating opportunities in education, healthcare, finance and agriculture.
Through reforms aimed at improving affordability, digital skills and regulation, Senegal could reduce its 54% usage gap, enabling more citizens to participate in the digital economy.
The Helios Towers initiative forms part of broader efforts to position digital technology as an enabler of economic growth and social inclusion. By expanding network infrastructure and coverage, the government aims to widen access and ensure more citizens benefit from digital services.
