Hayo, a digital solutions company, is expanding its East African presence by offering a range of voice, text and digital services in Rwanda.

The move is designed to accelerate the nation’s digital transformation by providing tailored solutions for mobile operators, government entities, and private enterprises alike.

It also builds on a period of aggressive growth across the continent, following entries into Botswana, Liberia, and Malawi in 2025, and Senegal earlier this year, noted the firm.

This expansion follows the recent rollout of Hayo’s white-label eSIM platform, which allows mobile network operators to increase roaming revenue, enable rapid service delivery, and enhance operational efficiency.

In addition to its consumer-facing tech, the company enhanced its National Mobile Registry platform in Q1 2026. This upgrade added critical fraud and mobile theft protections, allowing governments to better regulate imports, protect citizens, and secure public revenue.

Hayo noted that the number of internet users in Rwanda has more than tripled over the last decade, with 34.2% of the population regularly online in 2023 compared to just 8% in 2012.

The firm now aims to support this trajectory by on-boarding local talent and collaborating directly with Rwandan service providers and businesses.

“Rwanda has rapidly emerged as a leader for tech innovation in the region, and we see massive potential to support the growth of its digital economy with the right technology and expertise,” said Feraz Ahmed, Hayo CEO.

He emphasised that the firm is committed to Rwanda’s long-term growth by combining innovative digital solutions; including IoT, cloud, and gov-tech with local expertise.

Boaz Yaya, Hayo's director of operator relations, noted that the company is experiencing considerable growth in demand for digital services in Rwanda, which is consistent with Africa's overall trend of growing digital adoption.

He emphasised the firm's eventual goal of unifying the digital communications ecosystem across the continent.
