Former MTN Nigeria and Ghana chief executive officer, Ahmad Farroukh, is the new CEO of MTN South Africa in a management rotation.

On Thursday, MTN announced that former MTN SA CEO, Zunaid Bulbulia, has been made group chief operating executive for the telecom giant.

MTN said both appointments are effective immediately, but the company has not disclosed an exact reason for the move.

“The latest changes are in line with MTN’s strategy to regularly rotate key talent within the business,” group president and CEO of MTN, Sifiso Dabengwa, said in a statement.

Farroukh held the group chief operations executive role before Zunaid was placed in this position.

Zunaid was a founding member of MTN and previously also the chief financial officer of MTN SA.

Meanwhile, according to the MTN website, Farroukh is a Canadian who has a Masters in Business Administration and Accounting. He is also a Certified Public Accountant in the USA.
