
Ethio Telecom has formed a strategic relationship with Bankai Group, a provider of telecom technology, voice wholesale, and digital transformation solutions, to become the telco's preferred international call termination partner in Ethiopia, effective June 1, 2025.
This deal, according to Ethio Telecom, excludes traffic from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Sudan, Jordan, Somalia, and Djibouti.
According to a company statement, this relationship is a crucial step towards bolstering Ethiopia's international voice ecosystem.
Ethio Telecom, which is led by CEO Frehiwot Tamiru, stated that the goal is to improve call quality, assure regulatory compliance, and protect the integrity of international voice traffic.
It said: “Together, Ethio telecom and Bankai Group are committed to delivering high-performance and fraud-resistant voice services across key global corridors, advancing Ethiopia’s digital transformation through trusted and innovative telecom solutions.”
With over two decades of experience, Bankai serves tier-1 carriers, mobile network operators, and enterprises across 100+ countries through its subsidiaries including Broadband Telecom Inc. and Panamax Inc.
