The Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) has joined a handful of other African exchanges to have launched its own mobile app.
Officially launched on Sunday, 17 August, ‘EGX Mobile App’ is the exchange’s first mobile application and is designed to “strengthen transparency and expand communication channels within the capital market”, according to an EGX statement
The statement also noted that the move comes as part of its integrated digital transformation plan, and features include access to market news, data on listed securities, index summaries and highlights of key market movements.
The EGX said the new application is a “strategic step” and has been created to help investors stay on top of market developments, as well as building “direct bridges of communication with different stakeholders in the financial community”.
Released in a pilot version, users can explore the EGX Mobile App’s features and provide feedback through EGX’s Dialogue Platform.
Some of the other African countries’ exchanges to have previously launched their own apps include Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana and Mauritius.
