Ecobank has pledged to help Zambia's education system transition to the digital era with a three-year commitment, which includes the donation of 20 computers and the establishment of an ICT lab.

This is a significant boost for the government's efforts to provide inclusive, high-quality education, with a focus on students with special needs.

To kick off the program, Ecobank supplied computers to the University Teaching Hospital Special School.

The donation on Sunday was in honour of the annual Ecobank Day 2025, which this year was historic, commemorating the financial institution's four decades on the continent.

The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority reinforced this effort by providing extra computers and artificial intelligence-enabled learning platforms to enhance personalised education at the Lusaka institution.

The school already uses the Learning Passport Zambia, a digital platform with content tailored to assist students with disabilities.

The board chairperson of Ecobank Zambia, Joseph Chikolwa, restated the company's commitment to inclusive education.

"Emerging technologies such as AI and assistive learning tools enable children with disabilities to overcome learning barriers and reach their full potential," according to him.

Ecobank, headquartered in Togo, is commemorating its 40th anniversary in Africa, where it operates in over 30 countries.
