Dimension Data rolls out new E-Learning centres

Dimension Data plans to introduce its E-Learning project to two more provinces in South Africa.

The project is available around South Africa except the Northern Cape and Mpumalanga.

“The project is definitely expanding to other provinces, we will be installing the solution to two schools in Mpumalanga,” said Sibusiso Buthelezi, general manager for BEE compliance & execution at Dimension Data.

Buthelezi added, “Later in the year we would also be installing the solution in two schools in the Northern Cape, to ensure that we have a full national coverage.”

The Centres are equipped with a central server, wireless network, drop down screens and an E-Learning trolley.

The trolley comprises of a computer, projector, DVD player, wireless router and amplified speakers and a computer. Each school is equipped with 5 E-learning trolley machines.

The information and communications firm forecasts the number of beneficiaries of its E-Learning Centre initiative would grow significantly in the next three years.

The company's goal is to reach 40 000 learners by 2015 up from 27 500.
