Datatec, an international technology firm listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), has announced its subsidiary, Logicalis USA, has acquired 100% of the share capital of Loial, a New Mexico-based technology solutions provider with expertise in cybersecurity and managed services.
The acquisition establishes a permanent Logicalis USA location in New Mexico and expands its Southwest team.
Loial is an established cybersecurity and Splunk partner, with experience helping organisations modernise security operations, improve visibility across complex IT environments and strengthen cyber resilience, Datatec said in a JSE announcement.
The company serves industries including energy, utilities, government and healthcare. The acquisition became effective on 31 July 2026, the date on which conditions precedent were met.
Jens Montanana, chief executive officer of Datatec, said: “Loial brings deep cybersecurity expertise and long-standing customer relationships across multiple vertical markets, and extends Logicalis USA's presence into New Mexico, an important market that supports the division's long-term growth strategy.”
Datatec has in recent years positioned Logicalis as a key growth driver, focusing on cloud, data analytics and cybersecurity services across its global operations. The group has also pursued targeted acquisitions to expand regional capabilities and deepen its services-led strategy.
In terms of regulatory disclosure, the company said the announcement was made on a voluntary basis, as the acquisition does not meet the thresholds for categorisation under the JSE Listings Requirements and is therefore not subject to shareholder approval.
