Datatec, a global ICT solution and services group, announced that its subsidiary company Logicalis plans to acquire 100% of the issued share capital of Inforsacom Holding GmbH.

With an annual turnover of $140 million Inforsacom provides database, storage and infrastructure solutions and services with operations across the major economic centres in Germany.

In a statement Johannesburg- and London-listed Datatec said the acquisition is subject to the approval by the German Competition Authorities and the South African Reserve Bank.

The deal is expected to be finalised in January 2015, the statement noted.

The statement continues that the acquisition is expected to enhance Logicalis' scale and capabilities in the German ICT market.

Commenting on the deal Jens Montanana, Datatec's chief executive officer said, "The acquisition of Inforsacom creates a larger platform with broader ICT services capabilities to augment Logicalis' existing German operations, in line with the strategy of growing our presence in Europe."
