Veeam, in collaboration with ITWeb, conducted the 2026 Data Confidence & AI Readiness Survey to assess how confident organisations across Africa are in the quality, visibility and traceability of their data, and how prepared they are to adopt, govern and scale enterprise-wide AI initiatives.

The survey was conducted online via the ITWeb and ITWeb Africa platforms during June and July 2026. It gathered responses from 140 data and cyber security leaders at medium and large organisations across 14 African countries.

The findings point to a significant gap between perceived resilience and demonstrated recovery capability. While 85% of respondents express at least moderate confidence in their ability to recover usable data following a cyber incident, almost one-third have not recently validated that capability.

Furthermore, only 29% consider themselves advanced or fully ready to govern and scale AI using trusted data.

How does your company compare, and what steps should you take to strengthen your data resilience and AI readiness?
