Mobile operator Cell C says its customers in South Africa’s Western Cape province have been experiencing ongoing network issues on Tuesday.

In a statement emailed to ITWeb Africa, the South African telco confirmed that it has experienced issues with its network on Tuesday in light of complaints on social network Twitter.

"Cell C can confirm it has experienced transmission failure on 34 sites in the Western Cape,” says the statement.

“We are in the process of repairing the issue with our network partners in the area. Services should be fully restored soon. Cell C will communicate with customers as soon as the problem has been resolved. We apologise for the inconvenience," the statement explained.

Meanwhile, disgruntled Cell C customers took to social network Twitter to air their grievances.
