Cameroon Postal Services has partnered with start-up FindMe to improve mail delivery.

Cameroon Postal Services (Campost) picked FindMe, an address management solutions start-up, as a key partner to improve mail delivery across the country.

The two signed a partnership deal in the capital, Yaounde, which will allow Campost to use FindMe's technologies to improve operational efficiency.

Following a successful test in Senegal, Campost approached FindMe to tailor its postal addressing solution to Cameroon's unique needs.

FindMe's solution, which integrates GPS systems such as Google Maps and Waze, allows customers to generate a postal address in under two minutes using a mobile application.

The address provides essential information, such as house number, street name, postcode and town, amongst others.

The FindMe solution allows users to generate a free postal address.

To obtain a certified address, consumers must purchase a Postal Location Plan for 2,000 francs CFA ($3.3), which replaces the often inaccurate handwritten location maps with a Know-Your-Client-compliant document.

According to Brandon Brice Wanguep, founder and CEO of FindMe, "This will profoundly transform access to certain basic services in Cameroon and modernise the postal service."

While Pierre Kaldadak, General Manager of Campost, added: "With the boom in e-commerce, it is important for the postal service to reinvent itself in order to better satisfy customers, by meeting delivery needs right up to the last mile"
