ASUS and SA's Mustek sign distribution deal

Taiwanese consumer notebook vendor and motherboard manufacturer, ASUS, has inked a distribution partnership deal with South African computer products company, Mustek.

As a motherboard manufacturer, ASUS makes the main printed circuit boards (PCB) found in computers and other expandable systems.

Meanwhile, South African company, Mustek, assembles and distributes personal computers and complimentary ICT products in the country.

According to officials from both firms, the partnership is planned to assist in growing ASUS’ brand presence and customer base in the South African market.

The partnership it is also expected to help grant Mustek distribution rights of the ASUS range of products, which comprise of tablets and notebooks across South Africa and other African regions.

“This is a partnership of mutual interests, focused on growth, quality and service, and we are confident that this relationship will be successful and beneficial to both parties involved,” says Jeff Kuo, country manager of ASUS South Africa, in a statement.

David Kan (pictured), chief executive officer of Mustek, says, “ASUS has seen steady growth in South Africa, mostly due to the popularity of its innovative and award-winning products, such as the Nexus 7.”

He adds, “ASUS perfectly meets the significant demand for world class mobile solutions including their tier one notebook and tablet ranges.”
