The second annual DEMO Africa 2013 conference has officially been opened for applications, with the organisers stating October 24-25 as the dates for this year’s function to be held in Nairobi, Kenya.
This will be the second time the event is held in Nairobi after last year's inaugural conference where more than 40 competitive startups were featured and exposed to the world for funding.
Harry Hare, executive producer, DEMO Africa said, "It gives me great pleasure to announce DEMO Africa 2013 and just like last year, we will be looking for the best of the best technology startups to launch on a global platform.”
"The bar is set even higher this year as we take the companies that have the highest potential and expose them to the investors, media and technology buyers," he added.
Applicants from across the continent are welcome to submit their applications for shortlisting, where 40 companies will travel to Kenya’s capital to demonstrate their products before investors and other tech enthusiasts gathered at the conference.
Hare said that for a company to be eligible, the products presented must solve real commercial problems scalable into large businesses, have a business plan together with an able team to deliver the products into the market.
Applications will be shared on VC4Africa, a partner of DEMO Africa, and a platform where African tech innovations are showcased to the world.
