Airtel Madagascar can continue adding subscribers and expanding digital services as its customer base grows after introducing a new 035 mobile prefix nationwide.

The new numbering range increases the operator's capacity to issue mobile numbers and support future growth across its voice, data and Airtel Money services.

As subscriber bases expand, operators require additional numbering resources to allocate new mobile numbers, making new prefixes a routine part of network growth and customer acquisition strategies.

Airtel Madagascar said the launch forms part of its broader modernisation efforts and commitment to expanding connectivity and financial inclusion across the country.

The introduction of the 035 prefix will not affect customers using existing 033 numbers, which remain valid.

With an active subscriber base of five million users, the operator said the expansion will enable more customers to access its voice, internet and digital services, including Airtel Money.

"The launch of the 035 prefix marks a key structural step in our development. It reflects the sustained growth of Airtel Madagascar and our commitment to supporting the changing connectivity and financial inclusion needs of the Malagasy people," said Anne Catherine Tchokonté, managing director of Airtel Madagascar. "We are opening a new chapter, with a network that is more accessible to everyone."
