All eyes are on Africa's burgeoning start-up ecosystem as the 2025 edition of the annual AfricArena Grand Summit begins in less than a week.
The Summit comes after AfricArena hosted five high-energy hybrid events across four regions on the continent.
The Grand Summit will be held on December 2nd and 3rd at the International Convention Centre in Cape Town, South Africa, and will provide an opportunity for start-ups to showcase their business ideas and innovations to possible investors.
A two-day conference will feature pitches from over 50 start-ups operating from the diaspora, spanning from the Seed phase and Series B, as well as keynotes and panel discussions from experts in business, tech and investment in the region.
It is also anticipated to draw the attention of government agencies, entrepreneur support organisations, investors, and corporates.
AfricArena will award over $1 million in AWS Activate credits and also enable connections with over 300 investors present to further broaden its track record of facilitations of over $940 million in investment transactions dating back from 2017.
Additionally, as part of the Grand Summit, the organiser will also host the Venture Studio & Corporate Innovation Summit; a gathering at the intersection of corporate innovation, venture capital, and venture building, which also provides insight on how the continent’s emerging venture studios are reshaping the start-up environment, driving growth, and unlocking bold collaboration opportunities with corporates across Africa.
“AfricArena presents an opportunity to explore tomorrow’s trends today by showcasing some of Africa’s most innovative start-ups and connecting them with investors, corporates, and enablers to accelerate their growth. We strongly believe in the power of providing a platform that fosters bright and forward-thinking minds to network, get inspired and co-build a stronger tech start-up investment ecosystem for Africa,” said the company through its website.
