The 5th annual Africa 2.0 Annual Leadership Symposium takes place from 24 – 26 November in Maputo and is themed Synergy: Stronger Together, with specific focus on startups, women in science and technology, and leveraging ICT effectively.

The event will cover several themes that continue to impact on entrepreneurs in Africa, including building an entrepreneurship ecosystem, the youth and coding, and using technology to leapfrog the continent's transformation.

These focus areas will be discussed in workshops, panel debates, presentations as well as 'hackathons'.

In a press release organisers say Africa 2.0 will launch a partnership with We Think Code, as well as the introduction of the Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Programme which seeks to address the full entrepreneurship ecosystem by using technology, access to funding, mentorship and incubation support.

"Entrepreneurship is one of the ways to address youth unemployment by harnessing the demographic dividend of African Youth. In parallel to the main conference, a StartUp Africa entrepreneurship competition will be hosted, showcasing over 20 young entrepreneurs that are changing Africa and addressing critical African challenges with their innovative businesses," the organisation has stated.
