MTN Group, Africa’s biggest telecoms company by reach and subscriber footprint, has kicked off its 2026 Global Leadership Gathering (GLG), bringing together more than 400 senior executives from across its markets at a defining moment for the continent’s digital future.

Held under the theme “3 Platforms, One MTN,” the three-day gathering signals a renewed push for alignment and disciplined execution across MTN’s vast African and Middle Eastern footprint.

Hosted by Group president and CEO Ralph Mupita and the executive team, the forum comes as the telco builds on a string of 2025 wins that reinforced its position as a critical enabler of Africa’s digital economy.

MTN ended 2025 with strong momentum across its core connectivity, fintech and digital platforms.

The Group expanded 4G and 5G coverage in key markets, deepened mobile money penetration through MoMo, and accelerated investment in network resilience and data capacity to meet Africa’s surging demand for affordable, reliable connectivity.

These gains strengthened MTN’s ability to serve hundreds of millions of subscribers across more than a dozen African countries, cementing its status as the continent’s largest telco.

“Our role is to enable Africa’s progress by connecting people, businesses and communities, and by extending digital and financial inclusion in the markets we serve,” said Mupita. “That responsibility demands leaders who work as one MTN in how we set priorities, make decisions and execute with discipline and consistency.”

The GLG is designed as a high-impact leadership forum, enabling MTN’s most senior decision-makers to align on priorities, assess performance and reinforce accountability across diverse and complex markets.

Over the three days, leaders are engaging in customer experience, execution discipline and leadership effectiveness, critical pillars as competition intensifies and regulatory expectations rise.

Looking ahead, MTN’s vision for Africa is anchored in scale, inclusion and long-term value creation.

The Group is positioning its “three platforms,” connectivity, fintech and digital services, as engines for inclusive growth, supporting small businesses, governments and consumers in an increasingly digital-first economy.

“As Africa’s digital needs evolve, we must deliver at scale with consistency and quality. Working as one MTN is how we unlock that impact,” said Mupita.
