Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta has pledged to launch a website through which members of the public can report corrupt government officials.

The president's plans come on the back of continuous corruption blamed on civil servants.

“All you (members of the public) will be required to do is log in, there will be a place where you will record the name, ministry alongside department and position of the corrupt official to get them arrested,” said Kenyatta.

The president further asked government officials to stop all forms of corruption as these hindered economic empowerment of individuals seeking government contacts.

He added that government employees must be content with their salaries.

“If an official feels that their salary is insufficient, there is alternative for them to quit and seek other forms of employment,” he said.

The president warned the public procurement directorate to seal all the loopholes that allowed corruption to compromise the procurement process noting that negligence would not be tolerated.

Kenyatta has previously raised concern at corruption levels among government officials, warning that culprits would be dismissed from their jobs.
