Cassava Technologies and Sand Technologies, a global enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) solutions business, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the delivery of AI solutions and GPU-as-a-service (GPUaaS) across Africa.
Cassava recently revealed plans to establish Africa's first AI factory, which will provide African companies, governments, and researchers with access to AI computing capability, allowing them to produce smarter AI products, streamline operations, and remain competitive.
The alliance, unveiled during the Global AI Summit on Africa in Kigali, Rwanda, aims to make AI solutions more accessible to African enterprises, according to Cassava in a statement.
The firm went on to note that as more firms in Africa strive to capitalise on the potential of AI, the demand for powerful GPU processing capabilities is growing.
Sand Technologies now has access to Cassava's GPU technologies, allowing it to develop advanced AI solutions for their clients across industries while also expanding Cassava's own footprint into these areas.
Sand Technologies will use Cassava’s advanced NVIDIA-powered GPU capabilities to build and deploy AI solutions worldwide under the terms of the MoU.
Fred Swaniker, founder and CEO of Sand Technologies, commented on the partnership, saying it is poised to be a watershed moment for the evolution of industry-related AI solutions on the African continent.
“It will enable us to bring the best of Cassava's GPU processing power to our clients and position us to support their digital transformation journeys.”
