SA's Blue Networks and Infrastructure secures Cisco Gold

South African Exempt Micro Enterprise BNI (Blue Networks and Infrastructure) has secured Cisco Gold Partner status, reinforcing its capability to sell, install, and support Cisco solutions in South Africa.

BNI released a statement confirming that as a Cisco Gold Certified Partner, it has access to technical support, productivity tools, online training, marketing resources and sales promotions "with specific emphasis on applying best business practices, technology specialisations, as well as managing and measuring customer and end user satisfaction."

Wimpie Jonck, general manager at BNI, said that with the current economic uncertainties in South Africa, IT spend has been slow especially within the public sector domain, but the company expects a change this year.

"It is our experience that the private sector has been spending a little more than the public sector. We, however, believe that government departments will increase IT spend in 2020 to ensure they deliver on broader community requirements," said Jonck.

He added that because BNI is an Exempt Micro Enterprise, it benefits from government's procurement drive of 30% of tenders towards EME/ QSE companies.

The Cisco Gold Partnership means the company will be able to respond to tenders that stipulate this certification as mandatory.

Reshma Fynn, chief executive officer of BNI added: "We are extremely pleased to achieve our Cisco Gold Partner certification in less than ten months since our inception. Through our partnership with Cisco and our involvement in the EDGE Program, we were able to focus on all the policy, system and training requirements needed to comply in becoming a Cisco Gold Certified Partner."

Clayton Naidoo, General Manager, Cisco Sub Saharan Africa, added, "BNI joined the Cisco EDGE Program in June 2019, which aims to share business knowledge, help develop small and medium businesses in the digital age, speed up their entry to market and, as a result, create new jobs for the local economy. BNI has shown tremendous commitment since joining the program."
