Epicor pens distribution deal with epic ERP

Global software company, Epicor has signed an international channel distribution deal with its former South African value-added reseller (VAR) epic ERP.

Epicor says it aims to grow its footprint in sub-Saharan Africa with its enterprise resource planning (ERP) software solutions and in this regard will focus on growing its reseller base.

The software firm says its industry specific software has done significantly well under epic ERP, leading to a realisation of increased demand across Africa.

Epicor hopes the partnership will improve its market potential in the region and epic ERP will be looking to on-board reseller partners to push solutions including Epicor ERP, Epicor Cloud and Epicor Human Capital management.

According to Epicor, epic ERP has manged to grow its revenue over ten times in under a year and its ERP application team has quadrupled in size. The software company says this as a result of demand that is currently outstripping supply.

Stuart Scanlon, Managing Director of epic ERP, says the company has a strong footprint across Africa, with a large customer base in countries such as Tanzania, Mauritius, Madagascar and Uganda.

"We have already started engaging in territories such as Kenya where there is a strong footprint on the ground," he says, adding that the criteria to be certified as an Epicor VAR are quite stringent, where it is an accolade to receive partner status.

"Our targets are organisations that have a track record of customer excellence and proven industry knowledge," he says.

Danéel van Eck, director strategy at epic ERP says, "Recruitment drive for VAR partners in the region has already begun with a view to double the current reseller base in the first eighteen months. epic ERP will take full responsibility for managing, marketing, invoicing and training resellers across Africa."

Sabby Gill, Executive Vice President International at Epicor, says, "To make an impact on the African market takes investment and infrastructure. By partnering and working with epic ERP as a distributor we increase our footprint and are able to penetrate larger organisations. This is a new business model for Epicor and it enables us to have a substantial team on the ground to promote further international growth."
