Digital disruption to dominate GIL Africa 2017
Digital transformation across multiple verticals will top the discussion agenda at the 2017 Frost & Sullivan Growth Innovation and Leadership (GIL) Summit in Cape Town on 17 August.
The event will see business leaders and industry experts converge to highlight successes in digital transformation, along with other aspects of what organisers have termed 'the next frontier of innovation in Africa'.
Organisers say delegates will have an opportunity to witness how transformation sparks innovation through the value chain of the continent's economy.
Speakers scheduled to present at the Summit include Dorman Followwill, Senior Partner, Frost & Sullivan; Hendrik Malan, Operations Director, Africa, Frost & Sullivan; Adrian Gore, Group Chief Executive Discovery Limited; Birgitta Cederström, Global Commercial Director, GIL, Regional Director, Africa, GIL at Frost & Sullivan; Nelisiwe Masango, Director, Bear Run Investments; Ryan Noach, Deputy CEO, Discovery Health and Sneha Shah, MD, Thomson Reuters, Africa.
Various themes, including IoT, e-commerce, Product as a Service and the social impact of digital transformation, will be tackled in presentations and the event will also feature a number of 'think tanks' covering, among others, Digital Transformation of Industries: Business and Social Impact Overview; and 360 Degree Digital Disruption Across Industries.
However, the impact of digital transformation on industries will dominate proceedings and discussions have been organised to focus on the impact on agribusiness; the public sector, healthcare, as well as on power & water sectors.
According to Frost & Sullivan global markets are being disrupted by an accelerating pace of innovation in the digital world.
"Digital transformation has entered an era of unprecedented change for enterprises and real change necessitates a fundamental shift across processes, functions, customer engagement and many other aspects of business. Today, more than ever before, it has become imperative for organisations to implement concrete strategies around digital transformation," the company explains.
