Kenya is eyeing tech sector for jub creation.

Kenya is expanding its information technology-enabled services sector to provide work opportunities for the country's youth.

On Tuesday, during the 5th anniversary of Inua AI, ICT, and Digital Economy, Principal Secretary John Tanui remarked that the government is developing infrastructure to encourage the country's artificial intelligence growth.

Inua AI provides individuals with technology-driven skills and knowledge that are aligned with the changing needs of the job market, as well as to connect them with career prospects in the AI era.

In doing so, it claims to transform the future by using the power of technology and education to provide equal and cutting-edge economic and professional opportunities for everybody in the age of AI.

Humphrey Muchuma, founder and CEO of Inua AI, stated that the company wants to sponsor 20 students pursuing various technology-related courses in the country, as well as establish 10 digital centres to offer more work opportunities across the country starting next year.

“Our vision is to leverage Kenya's talent and resources to compete globally and enhance the economy by creating jobs for young people in this sector,” said John Kipchumba Tanui, principal secretary - department for ICT and digital economy.
