Telecel Zimbabwe launches business product

Zimbabwe’s second largest mobile operator, Telecel Zimbabwe, has launched Telecel Business - a monthly subscription offer for businesses and other organisations.

According to the telco the price plan could help businesses cut their phone bills by as much as 80%.

Telecel Business is similar to its consumer brand Telecel Red, in that it is subscription based and offers subscribers usage of up to five times the amount of the subscription, a statement reads.

Telecel Zimbabwe’s marketing director Octivius Kahiya said there are four package options organisations can choose from: Telecel Business 15, Telecel Business 30, Telecel Business 60 and Telecel Business 150.

A monthly subscription for the various offers including Value Added Tax (VAT) range from $17,25 to $172,50.

A major feature of Telecel Business is the Closed User Group (CUG) concept, which allows calls between Telecel numbers of members of a business to be made virtually for free. In this way the Telecel numbers of members of staff become similar to extensions that can be called for free, a press statement explained.

Telecel Business users are entitled to a certain number of minutes each month for conversations with members of the CUG, a certain number of minutes for calls to other Telecel customers and a certain number of minutes to non-Telecel local numbers, as well as an amount of free data and local text messages.

“Our focus at Telecel is on our customers. We want our customers to focus on their business, while we take care of their communication needs,” said Kahiya.

Kahiya added that Telecel Business users could retain their existing Telecel numbers

And customers from other networks could be given a number with the last six digits the same as those of their existing number.

As the second largest telco in Zimbabwe Telecel says it has 2.4 million subscribers.
