MTN Nigeria partners with NetLink, NIGCOMSAT

Mobile operator MTN Nigeria has won deal with Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) and local wireless broadband firm, NetLink Limited, to deliver information and communications technology (ICT) solutions across the country.

The solutions are planned to be provided on a broad range of advanced ICT services that are billed to be available to the private and public sector in the near future.

The chief enterprise solutions officer of MTN Nigeria, Babatunde Osho, said the partnership is planned to benefit both the public and private sector.

“Believing in the strategic roadmap being chartered by NIGCOMSAT, MTN has entered into this partnership with NIGCOMSAT and NetLink to deliver a broad range of advanced technology solutions only made possible by the combined infrastructure, assets and capabilities of all three parties.

"With the extensive infrastructure available and technical know-how, we look forward to delivering some innovative and game-changing solutions that will benefit both the public and private sectors of the Nigerian economy,” he said.

Chief executive of NIGCOMSAT, Timasaniyu Ahmed-Rufai, said, “With MTN and NetLink Technologies, we are sure to successfully implement our strategic roadmap that would bring the value of advanced ICT solutions to businesses, homes and government institutions across the country.”

Meanwhile, chairman of NetLink Technologies, Dumebi Kachikwu, said the partnership could help speed up technology advancement in Nigeria.

“The benefits of leveraging each partner’s unique capabilities and infrastructure will result in more robust solutions, deployed on a much wider scale and within more aggressive timelines,” he added.
