Zambia's Ecobank launches internet banking service
Ecobank Zambia, a member of the Ecobank Group, has launched an upgraded internet banking service for its retail customers.
The launch of the upgraded service is expected to give customers the convenience of conducting banking transactions in the comfort of their offices and homes anytime as long as they have internet connection.
Using best-in-class technology, the new system offers Ecobank Zambia customers a wider range of transactional activities, which include online payments, domestic, and international fund transfers.
Bank-managing director Charity Lumpa said the enhanced online service would be available to all of its retail customers across the country.
Lumpa described the launch of the integrated internet banking service by the bank as an important milestone.
“Our customers are now able to have better control of their finances using safe, quick and convenient online banking system,” he said.
Ecobank Zambia, a member of the Pan-African banking network, said with the new technology, customers would be able to open a term deposit account and benefit from 24/7 customer support.
The bank said the upgraded internet banking further enhances the existing direct e-mail contact with the bank that customers have been enjoying.
Lumpa said the bank had already embarked on a drive to promote the advantages of the internet banking service to its existing customers, as well as to attract new clients to its state-of-the-art banking platform.
“Ecobank strives to offer the best customer service possible. By offering the advanced internet banking platform, we believe our customers will be served even better-now and in the future,” Lumpa said.
