Nairobi technology innovation centre iHub is planning a user experience workshop with software giant Microsoft, in a bid to close the gap that exists between technology developers and the end-users.

Officials say the event, which is scheduled for Wednesday and Friday, is set to train developers about how to better reach their clients through their technological innovations.

iHub UX Lab, which is part of the iHub that brings together more than 10,000 entrepreneurs, technology experts, developers and designers in developing solutions for Kenyan market, is organising the event in collaboration with global technology firm, Microsoft.

“The training will focus on user needs then mentor and train developers,” said head of iHub UX Lab, Mark Kamau.

The training also aims to ensure technology designers understand the ethos that guide designing for the Microsoft Windows operating system.

The global computer giant company is in a mission develop more homegrown solutions for Windows mobile products and the entire Windows ecosystem.

Michael Kamau, a local designer, believes that the training could assist designers and developers in the country.

“This will enhance product-user compatibility since most of us design products that prove too sophisticated to the users,” he said.
