Following its involvement in a bridge funding round in October last year, Cape Town-based venture capital firm HAVAÍC has announced a new investment in RapidDeploy.

The venture capital firm increased its interest in RapidDeploy with a second investment, as part of the company's Series C equity round.

RapidDeploy – founded in South Africa in 2016 and now headquartered in Austin, Texas – is deploying next-generation 911 systems at agencies around the United States.

According to the company, its cloud-native technologies improve situational awareness for agents and first responders in the field, thus assisting in the reduction of reaction times.

According to HAVAÍC, over 1,500 911 agencies across the United States are using RapidDeploy's cloud-native technologies, Radius Mapping and Eclipse Analytics.

"Radius Mapping is a primary call-taking map that unifies mission-critical intelligence such as location data, live tracking, floor plans, messaging, health records, vehicle data, and live video streaming on a single screen," says the company. “Eclipse Analytics is a browser-based platform that combines 911 call data on a large scale in order to deliver on-demand reporting and analytics on a single platform."

"It (RapidDeploy) makes all the difference," says Grant Rock, partner, HAVAÍC. “In line with our investment philosophy, RapidDeploy is a perfect example of African-born technology making a worldwide effect."

RapidDeploy CEO Steven Raucher says: "This investment allows us to continue innovating our suite of Next Generation 911 solutions for the public safety sector."
