Nigeria equips customs officers with latest technologies
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) is training its employees in data generation, analytics, and storage to combat smuggling.
This also aims to strengthen the service's capabilities in modern customs operations through better data processing, said the government.
Assistant comptroller-general of customs, Malanta Yusuf, emphasised the critical role of data in strategic planning and operational efficiency.
Speaking at a workshop at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, he also highlighted that effective decision-making relied heavily on robust data generation and analytics.
“This workshop is designed to equip officers with comprehensive knowledge in various aspects of data management,” Yusuf said.
He said the practical learning experience aimed to empower officers in their roles, contributing to the overall success of the NCS.
He also highlighted the importance of innovative solutions and the integration of geospatial intelligence into current data analysis practices.
