Italian firm De Lorenzo donates e-learning solutions to Nigeria
De Lorenzo SpA, an Italian firm that develops and manufactures training equipment, has donated 1,000 e-Learning solutions to Nigeria's National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
The e-Learning solutions are a set of teaching resources focused on AI, robotics, machine automation, process control, and factory automation.
“These carefully designed resources demonstrate De Lorenzo's dedication to promoting skill development in areas critical to the 21st-century workforce,” said NITDA.
This donation, NITDA said, will bolster President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's ongoing efforts to improve technical and vocational skills among the country's youth and to create jobs.
De Lorenzo designs, develops and produces technical and vocational training didactic equipment in the fields of AI, robotics, machine automation, process control, and factory automation.
According to NITDA, the collaboration goes beyond the donation, as De Lorenzo has confirmed it will actively participate in the development of key digital skills.
“De Lorenzo is dedicated to providing ongoing support through the supply of purpose-built didactic equipment, ensuring that learners have access to resources that align with industry standards,” said a statement from NITDA.
According to the agency, innovation hubs, learning centres, technology development zones, and higher education institutions will “strategically use the donated e-learning solutions to increase engagement, promote active learning, visualise abstract concepts, personalise learning experiences, and make learning more accessible while also creating jobs and establishing a sustainable digital economy.”
The Nigerian agency said De Lorenzo and NITDA have formed a strategic relationship to stimulate innovation, empower youth, and contribute to the nation's socioeconomic development.
