GTBank upgrades online banking service

Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) in Nigeria has upgraded its online banking platform in an effort to provide adequate safety for customers using its internet banking service.

The bank also added new features with more technical functionalities to the platform.

Officials said the upgraded platform now provides customers with a more user friendly way to carry out their online transactions and manage their services.

Sina Ayegbusi, head of technology division at GTBank said commitment to superior customer service experience drove it to ensure that it utilises revolutionary technology to simplify and secure the online banking transaction and experience for its customers.

“The upgrade to our internet banking platform gives our diverse customers various on-the-go banking options due to its responsive design that makes it convenient for use on computer and mobile devices,” he said.

One of the key features of the platform is the new account information reporting service via its new homepage dashboard.

GTBank was the first financial institution to introduce an internet banking platform in 1991.

The bank's online banking service has been recognised as one of the most robust in the industry, supporting an array of service offerings that include bills payments, own and third party transfers and foreign exchange transfers to any bank account in the world.

The bank’s alternative channels were given a Payment Card Industry Standards Council (PCISSC) certification in 2011.
