IT vendors find footprint in Africa through Distree Africa

Last week, the African continent welcomed its latest global event, Distree Africa, bringing together global IT vendors, resellers, distributors and retailers.

This event held in Nairobi, Kenya displayed the great growth opportunities that Africa has in terms of consumption of IT products and the vast market.

"We are here to support all African channel stakeholders in their transition to healthier and more profitable business relationships. DISTREE Africa has created a platform for an exchange of ideas between vendors and channel partners, allowing them to address market issues,” Farouk Hemraj, chief executive officer, DISTREE Events told ITWeb Africa.

He added, "This year's event attracted a great mix of exhibitors including both international vendors and distributors covering African markets. We will build on the success of the inaugural DISTREE Africa to include successful local brands, additional international vendors and an increased number of distributors in 2015."

The event attracted over 140-plus vendor and distributor executives, representatives from more than 90 key African resellers, and senior management from more than 30 top regional retailers.

The event has a unique preposition where direct vendor, reseller and distributor meeting happens throughout the event giving opportunities for business.

“For African channel partners, DISTREE Africa is an opportunity to meet both potential new suppliers and existing partners at one single event,” Hemraj said.
