Ahead of International Women's Day, Kenyan-based Tech for Inclusion Africa (Tech4Inc), a non-profit dedicated to promoting inclusive technological growth across Africa, is recognising three women for their contributions to the industry.

This year, Tech4Inc says it will honour the 'brilliant women' who are reshaping the tech scene, breaking down barriers, and inspiring the next generation.

International Women's Day is a holiday celebrated annually on the 8 of March, as a focal point in the women's rights movement.

This year, Tech4Inc will recognise the contributions of three women on the continent: Njogu Grace from Kenya, Joanna Govender from South Africa, and Shandy Odhiambo from Kenya.

Njogu, a technology leader, has a strong expertise in digital transformation and strategic leadership.

According to Tec4Inc, Njogu has constantly championed projects that empower under-represented voices in technology.

"Her passion for mentoring and community-building has not only driven impactful projects but also inspired a new generation of women to break barriers and lead with confidence," according to the group.

Njogu encourages other women ahead of International Women's Day, saying, "Let us continue to lift each other up, challenge the status quo, and create spaces where our ideas can thrive."

"Embrace your particular strengths and remember that every breakthrough begins with the bravery to move forward. Together, we are creating a future marked by innovation, inclusion, and limitless possibilities."

According to Tech4Inc, Joanna Jacqueline Govender, CEO of the Empire Partner Foundation and the EPF Tech Fund, advocates for technology as a tool of empowerment, and has dedicated her career to breaking down barriers that prevent underserved communities from accessing the opportunities they deserve.

Govender comments: “On this International Women's Day, I'd like to recognise and congratulate every one of you for the enormous impact you've had not just on our organisation, but also on the world around you. Your passion, courage, and ambition inspire me every day, and I am extremely glad to be working with such an extraordinary group of women.

According to the NGO, Odhiambo is committed to mentoring young women in technology, advocating for more inclusiveness, and driving impact through data-driven solutions. Through her work and advocacy, she is shaping the future of technology to make it more diverse and equitable.

"Believe in the strength of your ideas and the influence you can have. The path ahead may be difficult, but remember that every barrier you breach opens the way for those who follow after you. Stay curious, resilient, and certain that your unique perspective is exactly what the world requires. "You have the capacity to impact the future—keep pushing forward and never doubt your worth in this sector," she cautioned other women.
