Letshego’s digital channels prove lucrative in Botswana, Namibia and Nigeria

Pan-African financial services company Letshego said digital adoption of its services, particularly loan applications, have increased with high levels experienced in Botswana, Namibia and Nigeria.

The company launched LetsGo Digital Mall in ten markets during the first half of 2021 followed by intensive marketing campaigns run by regional subsidiaries. This resulted in an increase in loan applications submitted via digital channels.

Letshego Group CEO, Andrew Fening Okai said as of the end of December 2021, over    300 000 customers have been registered on the Mall. Through ‘LetsGo Digital Platform’ customers are able to access new Deduction at Source (DAS) lending solutions, track their loans and update account information via their mobile phones.

For the year ending December 2021, Letshego’s DAS net loan book value grew by 14% year-on-year to P10.5-billion compared to P9.1-billion in 2020.

Okai said, “This year will see Letshego launch a portfolio of programmatic lending solutions in affordable housing, health and education, with operational efficiencies spurred by the execution of our target operating model that will house the Group’s sub-regional digital hubs and zero-code technological enhancements.”

He added that data analytics and artificial intelligence “provide an intrinsic source of intelligence for our strategic decision(making), and continuous evolution in customer experience.”

Okai emphasised that is the company’s employees and communities it serve that remain at the heart of its transformation. “Empowering our people and customers with future-fit digital and specialist knowledge is just another way we are building a LetsGoNation.”
