Mozambique applauds Huawei for ICT support

Mozambique has commended Huawei's contribution to the development of the Southern African country's ICT sector.

Officials lauded the company at the recently concluded Huawei 2024 Seeds for the Future Programme Award Ceremony.

Wang Hejun, the Chinese ambassador to Mozambique, was among the attendees.

Nearly 100 people attended the occasion, including Huawei’s general manager Zhang Junming.

During his remarks, Ambassador Hejun stated that the China-Mozambique comprehensive strategic alliance has consistently reached new heights.

"The digital economy cooperation between the two countries has rapidly gained momentum and achieved fruitful results," Wang stated.

Amilton Florêncio Alissone, Mozambican deputy minister of transport and communications, hailed Huawei's “Seeds for the Future” programme, which for years has developed a group of tech talent for Mozambique.

Alissone thanked China for its support, saying: “The communication technology talents cultivated by the ‘Seeds for the Future’ programme are the foundation for the development of information technology.”
