Nutanix holds Cloud Day in Nigeria, commits to Africa's digital future
Nutanix, a hybrid multi-cloud software provider, hosted its first Cloud Day in Lagos, Nigeria, as part of its push for continental dominance.
This, according to the company, represents an important step in its efforts to drive digital transformation across West, East, and Central Africa.
The event brought together business leaders, partners, and customers to discuss the future of multi-cloud infrastructure and enterprise Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the region, according to the company.
The hosting of Nutanix Cloud Day in Nigeria follows the company's recent announcement that it plans to increase investment in Africa to meet growing demand for its services on the continent.
The company feels optimistic about the continent's prospects, and it just engaged industry veteran Sven Schoenaerts as channel head for Europe, Middle East, and Africa to spearhead its expansion into the continent.
Raif Abou Diab, Nutanix's Country Manager for South Gulf and Sub-Saharan Africa, spoke on the Cloud Day in Lagos, saying the company is “deeply committed to supporting our reseller partners and customers in the region, helping them to leverage the power of multi-cloud to unlock new opportunities.”
He went on to say: “Our team is dedicated to delivering tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of businesses across West, East, and Central Africa, ensuring they can accelerate their cloud transformation journey with confidence and ease."
At the Lagos event, Nutanix reiterated its intention to provide African businesses with the flexibility and security of its multi-cloud platform.
Nutanix explained that Cloud Day highlighted the company's determination on simplifying cloud operations and providing innovative solutions to fit the unique needs of regional organisations.
It also demonstrated flexible Artificial Intelligence deployments to boost sustainability metrics, saying its solutions are intended to assist businesses accelerate growth and innovation.
Babatunde Abagun, Nutanix's sub-regional sales manager for West, East, and Central Africa, said the company's entrance into Nigeria is part of a bigger objective of supporting Africa's digital transformation.
