Teledoctor, OneLife Assurance collaborate on telehealth
Teledoctor, a technology driven public health and medical service provider, and OneLife Assurance have announced a partnership to transform healthcare delivery in Zambia.
According to a social media update, the two companies will incorporate Teledoctor’s telehealth services with OneLife Assurance’s offering to achieve a common goal; providing quality healthcare.
In the update, OneLife Assurance has said that policyholders will have access to Teledoctor’s virtual consultations, 24/7 cardiovascular monitoring, home doctor visits and diagnostic support.
Policyholders can receive online medical consultations by booking through the Teledoctor app or website.
According to Teledoctor’s website, virtual appointments can range from 15 minutes to an hour. One drawback for patients with poor network coverage is that a minimum connection speed of 700kbps is required for the virtual consultations.
The two companies believe the partnership will make healthcare more accessible.
“Our partnership with Teledoctor represents a significant step forward in realising our mission,” said Ntontela Siwale, MD, OneLife Assurance.
“This is about bridging the gaps in healthcare accessibility and ensuring that every person – no matter where they are in our country – can access the medical care they need when they need it,” he said.
Professor Wilbroad Mutale, CEO, Teledoctor, said the partnership is a “testament to the power of collaboration and the transformative potential of technology when applied with healthcare sector.”
