Kenya hopes to strengthen its relationships with Germany in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), business outsourcing, and digital transformation.

On Wednesday, William Kabogo, cabinet secretary for the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy, met with a group from the German Embassy to coordinate these efforts.

The meeting took place in the ministry's headquarters, with an embassy team led by Ambassador Sebastian Groth.

“We discussed how the two nations can enhance collaboration in sharing knowledge and experiences considering that the pace at which technology is developing requires constant benchmarking and sharing of ideas,” Kabogo told the media after the meeting.

He noted that Germany and Kenya were already partnering in some areas, and were planning another dialogue on digital during next month’s Connected Africa Summit in Diani,Kenya.

Kabogo noted the role played by Germany in the development of Kenya’s AI Strategy, which was launched last month.

“We also discussed how to bring the private sector on board in order to get economic dividends out of our growing partnership.”
