UK SIM cards go on sale in South Africa
South Africans visiting London to watch the olympics later this month may not have to worry about expensive roaming costs anymore, as UK SIM cards are set to become available to travellers in SA.
A UK company called FlyConnected plans to sell its offerings in South Africa, just before travellers across the globe head to the olympic games in London later this month.
The company is set to offer South Africans a cellphone SIM card preloaded with unlimited data, 300 minutes talk time, and 3000 texts for R399.
The second package on offer is a SIM card for an iPad, and it is preloaded with 3GB of data for R299
“Data especially with smartphones is already costing so much money,” said Alistair Wilson, director, FlyConnected.
“By having a UK SIM card in the UK you would have the advantage of the local tariffs,” he added.
FlyConnected also plans to launch SIMs for Australia and other European countries soon.
