Africa's richest man to inspire startups at DEMO Africa

Aliko Dangote, chairman of Dangote Group and Africa's richest man, according to Forbes, has been announced as one of the speakers at one of Africa's major startup events DEMO Africa, as confirmed by Yele Okeremi, chairman of DEMO Africa's local organising committee.

Dangote is expected to share entrepreneurial experience with startups from across the continent who will be gathering in Lagos, Nigeria to pitch their companies and attempt to launch their companies on a continental platform, attract new investments and forge new partnerships.

The billionaire's company has sold products, including cement, on platforms including Konga.com.

Dangote is also the chairman of the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PHN), a coalition of industry leaders aiming to create and support innovation marketplace in Nigeria's healthcare sector backed with multimillion dollar investment in selected health tech startups.

DEMO Africa 2015 is co-hosted by National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and will host a number of speakers including, Dr. Tunji Olaopa, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Communication and Technology; Mobolaji Adeoye, MD, Kuramo Capital (a venture capitalist company with current investment of $5m in hotel.ng) and Tobi Oke, Director, Intel Capital.

Others are Peter Jack, DG, NITDA; Jorn Lyseggen, founder, Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology [MEST], Stephen Ozoigbo, CEO, African Technology Foundation.
