Kaspersky Lab's Endpoint Security 8 for Windows has taken top honours in recent testing, beating other competing products in complex testing by AV-Test.org, the "Independent IT Security Institute" - with highest scores of 17 (average - 13.2).

Testing consisted of several trials, including those on effectiveness of malware detection and removal, the number of false positive detections, and resource usage.

Kaspersky Lab Endpoint Security 8 was also awarded the VB100 certification after being tested along with nearly 60 other security solutions in Virus Bulletin's unique independent comparative review, widely recognized in the industry, whose results were published in December 2011.

VB100 certification is granted to products that meet the basic standards required to be recognized as legitimate and properly functioning anti-malware solutions. The "100" comes from the need to prove a 100% detection rate for malware samples listed as "In the Wild" by the industry's go-to virus cataloguing authority, the WildList Organisation.
