Datatec subsidiary buys Cibercall's South American ops

South African information and communications group Datatec has said that its subsidiary Logicalis has acquired the Colombian and Ecuadorian operations of Cibercall.

Cibercall's solutions portfolio includes implementation, support, training, help-desk and managed services. Cibercall also has 45 employees and achieved unaudited revenues in excess of $12 million in its financial year ending 31 December 2011.

The acquisition of Cibercall is planned to be made by Logicalis' 60% subsidiary, Promon Logicalis Latin America Limited.

The acquisition further builds Logicalis' presence in Latin America. Cibercall's main vendor partner is Cisco Systems.

"This acquisition extends Logicalis' Latin American footprint and will enable the business to pursue a broader range of commercial and telecoms customer opportunities in the region,” said Datatec CEO Jens Montanana.

“Notably, it also provides significant presence in South America's third largest economy,” he added.
