Angola police install surveillance cameras across cities

Angola’s police force is in the process of installing surveillance cameras in cities around that country to help with public security.

National police spokesperson, Aristófanes dos Santos, told Angola Press (ANGOP) that the cameras are planned to be installed at various points along the country’s highways.

According to dos Santos the exercise has been started in the capital city of Luanda because of its high population and crime rate.

He explained that there are areas in the city where the system is already working in an experimental mode.

The national spokesperson added that the images produced by these electronic devices could be used by the country’s police service to solve crimes and other incorrect practices.
