In its quest to improve connectivity to Mozambique, Paratus Group has launched two cross-border fibre cables.

The company stated yesterday that it is now providing an alternative to the standard subsea cable route into South Africa, by creating two new fibre routes.

One of the fibre links crosses Eswatini, while the other follows the Komati Port route.

This accomplishment, according to the company, not only enhances Mozambique's technology infrastructure, but also provides resiliency for the future.

"In the event of an unexpected cable outage, the second fibre link seamlessly takes over, allowing uninterrupted communications and data transmission," the company said.

Rui Costa, Mozambique country manager, Paratus, added: "We have been connecting businesses and offering dynamic services for six years. We have grown and established offices across the north. And now we have established secure, fast and redundant cross-border links with the rest of the world from Mozambique."
